Buddy Cassidy
20 years-old | Rescued 24 March 2023
Buddy Cassidy came to us from a riding therapy center in FL after he could no longer be used in programming. In an earlier life, Buddy was a show pony for two little girls and lived in a polo club neighborhood. He is patient and kind, with a quiet nature that invites you to show him patience in return. He is close companions with Gracie and Norman.

Norman
23 years-old | Rescued 24 March 2023
Norman made the long trip north from FL alongside Buddy and Gracie. His cushings disease, anhidrosis, and laminitis, made it impossible to continue in the FL therapy program. While he was in the program, he overlapped with his mom biefly; Carly lived to be 38. Earlier in his life, Norman was a show pony, both driving and riding. His personality is as big as his hair!

Gracie
25 years-old | Rescue 24 March 2023
Gracie worked as a riding therapy pony from age three to 24. She has given so much of herself serving those with special needs, our veterans, survivors, and many more. After decades service, Gracie made clear that her body was tired and it was time for a quieter life. In the serenity of our picturesque ranch, her love affair with Buddy Cassidy has only grown.

Shandi
25 years-old | Rescued 28 April 2023
Shandi was one of our first owner surrender cases. She is an Arabian beauty queen who spent her whole life prior to RMR with the same owners on a farm upstate. Facing their own struggles of growing older, her previous owners were considering euthanasia. Family members contacted us and were able to place Shandi here, where she has found community and friendship with our herd.

Maxine
~17 years-old | Rescued 13 May 2023
Maxine is a rescue success story. Her case was particularly painful as the level of neglect was something we had never seen before. Maxine and her companion, Dottie, were found during a wellness check turned rescue mission. Months if not years of overgrown hoof took almost a year to correct and overcome. Now fully recovered, her disposition, soulful eyes, and expressive ears capture the hearts of everyone she meets.

Dottie
~9 years-old | Rescued 13 May 2023
When Dottie was found, she hadn’t seen the outdoors for what is believed to be years. Affectionately nicknamed ‘Turbo,’ Dottie is full of spunk and speed, and boy does she like to run. Don’t be fooled by her short stature, she is the loudest in the barn and the biggest flirt by a country mile. Maxine is Dottie’s biggest cheerleader and protector. We don’t know much about Dottie’s past, but it’s clear to us that she has some riding experience.

Ticket
6 years-old | Rescued 14 October 2023
In 2020, Ticket was rescued as a foal alongside 21 other horses in a neglect/hoarding case. After a failed adoption, he found a forever home here that suits his needs. Don’t let his size fool you, Ticket is the baby of the bunch. He’s a stunning and friendly Thoroughbred that loves to nuzzle up for a head scratch and is easily excitable. Nicknamed ‘Mr. Congeniality,’ Ticket gets along with everybody, horse or human.
-
Sailor
21 years-old | Retired 28 October 2023
Sailor is easily recognized for his memorizing blue eye, white lashes, and sail-shaped marking. His expression is largely dependent on which side you’re standing. He is a mild-tempered sweetheart that came to us from a riding therapy barn in Florida.
-
Cherokee
25 years-old | Retired 28 October 2023
Given his age and wisdom, Cherokee believes that he should receive everything first. He does so in a kind and persistent fashion. Almost always first to the paddock gate or first to be fed, he does it in a way that makes you want to give him the world.

Korai
~11 years-old | Rescued 5 November 2023
Korai is a handsome Medicine Hat horse who was used by humans as a utility until his feet and arthritic joints couldn’t perform the way they used to. After he became unprofitable as a trail horse, he was abandoned. Korai is our largest resident at about 16.5 hands with the stubbornness of a mule.

Barcelona
~12 years-old | Rescued 5 November 2023
Barcelona came to us from a dire situation. She was extremely timid, unkept, and scared of humans due to mistreatment in her past. We know very little about her history, although we do know she was a brood mare (female horse used for breeding) before she was abandoned. After months of working with her, our team has gained her trust and reignited her true personality.

Leroy
1 year-old | Rescued 29 August 2023
We adopted Leroy from the Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY. Leroy, and his late brother Louis, were young barn cats that prefer a more feral life. You can find Leroy lounging in the hay pile or playing with the horses. He may be hard of hearing, but he’s very curious.
-
Gideon
3 years-old | Rescued 27 March 2024
We adopted Gideon from Lollypop Farms’ Working Cat program, where he was rescued from a large hoarding case. Gideon is the bravest of the cat trio when it comes to human interaction and loves to cuddle with his brother Oliver.
-
Oliver
5 years-old | Rescued 27 March 2024
We adopted Oliver from Lollypop Farms with his brother Gideon. They were the last two cats to be adopted out from the same hoarding case. We rarely see Oliver and often have to confirm his existence through cat cam footage. Occasionally, we’ll catch Oliver napping in the hay with his brothers!
